New to arrive at JBT Marine is this used aluminium hulled Xpro 420 RIB with Yamaha 30hp outboard motor. This Xpro aluminium RIBs are very strong and make ideal tenders due to their strong light weight construction. The hull has 4 integrated lifting points making lifting quick and easy. The total weight of this boat is 240kg making it suitable for most davits lifting equipment.

This X-Pro 420 RIB has been fitted with a Yamaha 30hp outboard motor that has been run for less than 100 hours. This Yamaha 30hp is covered by manufacturer’s warranty until 2017. As well as having electric trim and tilt electric start has also been fitted. Other electronics include the Garmin GPSMap 451s plotter and depth sounder, Yamaha digital engine instrumentation and a live voltmeter.

Being a smaller craft the seating layout is key. This Xpro 420 RIB makes fantastic use of the space that it has by using a dual jockey seat and a two person rear bench seat. Both of these seats incorporate lockable storage via the either removable/hinged seating cushions. The rear bench seat is used to stow the removable 25 litre fuel tank. A sizable anchor lock at the bow of this RIB has also been built in and offers plenty of storage for the anchor, fenders and lines.

I bought my boat through JBT Marine, but before buying it they arranged a sea trial which I found invaluable since its the only true test of a boat.

Having been to the boat show and done a lot of research I chose the Ballistic 6.5m. The package suited exactly what I was looking for; the build quality is top class with a huge amount of versatile stowage space. The boat rides well in all seas and with the chosen engine really gets up and goes. The electronics package is is very comprehensive, it even includes a CD player!
